It depends on why you want an island - the usual reason is more likely to keep an eye on guests or children you want to watch while they play. I haven’t really seen an orientation toward the TV so far, but that doesn’t have to mean anything. That second floor-to-ceiling window behind the sofa doesn’t exist, right? Are the connections already specified?

Most of the time, the kitchen is also not between the dining area and the living room. But here, the location of the kitchen was fixed, so I see no other option.

I wanted an open kitchen, and just the kitchen unit on the wall would be too little kitchen in every respect.

No, the second window does not exist. Which connections do you mean? Basically, it is prepared.

Where water and so on are located...

So, I probably wouldn’t integrate the fridge, but place it on the left wall behind the sofa.
Then the two tall cabinets next to each other in the top left corner, next to them the section with the sink, and adjoining that a peninsula facing the dining area. So basically an L shape at the top.
That would loosen up the area behind the sofa—but that’s purely a matter of taste. I think such islands simply don’t look really great in small rooms.

The drawers should be enough for two people, this drawer for oil and stuff is, in my opinion, not "needed." You’d rather get a nice container for the island.

So, just mirrored:

I would prefer to have the two tall cabinets with appliances together on the left. Are those cabinets under the sink? I would always choose drawers. Isn't a dishwasher under an electrical appliance somewhat critical because of the steam? Mulp is great. Does it really have to be a proper island? If he places one side against the wall, you could make the island bigger. Personally, I also think the sink on the island is great and the cooktop on the kitchen counter.

Hehe, I think it's cool that you can also see the TV from the kitchen. Otherwise, I think you have quite little counter space, right? Only "a few" cm on the left and right of the cooktop and sink, respectively. I'm missing a larger continuous surface. Why not extend the island all the way to the wall? You also have several kitchen appliances like a food processor, Thermomix, toaster, etc., that want to stand somewhere on the countertop.
