Hello everyone here in the forum, I have a huge problem with Ikea.
We bought a Faktum kitchen at Ikea Leipzig on 28.8.12 for a price of €4400 without assembly, the assembly costs another €956 plus €139 delivery charges. Beforehand we of course also had someone come for the measurements.
The kitchen was supposed to be assembled in one day, kitchen size 5.60 m in a U shape with wall cabinets.
The appointment was on 5.9.12, everything was discussed on site with Ikea and the fitter and recorded in writing. On 5.9.12 another fitter came who stepped in, and immediately told me that this kitchen cannot be assembled in one day, that was the first frustration. Well, they started and worked 18 hours on the kitchen until 2 a.m., then the lower part of the kitchen was in place. Then in the following days I repeatedly called Ikea and was put off, about 3-4 days later the call came, appointment for the completion of the kitchen on 20.9.12, that day is my wife's birthday and she was of course not happy. I spoke with the lady on the phone about another appointment, but this would have been at the earliest 2 weeks later, we bit the bullet and said okay. 20.9.12 came and the fitter also, but he then said that he would not finish the kitchen because he would not hang the wall cabinets on a 4.5 cm thick concrete wall, so he left again without completing the work. On the same day I demanded the manager of Ikea Leipzig be called. He apologized to us. Decision on that day: the next fitter comes on 15.10.12 to finish the kitchen. And afterwards compensation will be negotiated.
Now to my question: Can someone tell me what I am entitled to, or what I can demand as compensation or damages?
