Hello everyone,

we are currently having parquet installed (oak, cube pattern). We have noticed the sometimes quite large gaps between 1 and 2mm, see pictures.
However, the parquet will still be sanded and sealed.

Is this okay?

Thanks and regards

What kind of quality is the material used? Those are cut-to-size squares, right? Such a thing should hardly occur unless it is inferior goods. I am not an expert. But that would be

Thank you for the response. Material: Bembé mosaic parquet, approx. 8 mm, according to DIN EN 13488, oak.

Ah, ok… 8mm thickness. Honestly: I don’t know it like that. I know it with about 4cm thickness (Old school) and then actually only one square, not four at once (for easier installation). I’m probably out of this one.

Hello " " Based on just one photo, one should not form a final opinion yet, but it does indeed seem that the 2-3mm wide gap was avoidable during installation. However, the mosaic parquet surface will be sanded and filled multiple times in a stepped manner. The word "filled" sounds ugly, admittedly, but it corresponds to the technical terminology! So just wait and see how the entire surface turns out in the end! Even with, for example, plank formats, or better: with old wooden planks used for years, inevitably occurring gaps are filled with the last sanding dust + glue; and afterwards, you can no longer see any gaps or anything similar. So wait - and look forward to a beautiful parquet floor! Regards: KlaRa
