I would definitely tend towards design flooring. We have the Modular One from Parador. It looks very stylish and so far has been very durable with two small children, and it also carries the Blue Angel - so no plasticizers inside.
In the old rental apartment, we had parquet and found the constantly new dents and scratches very annoying - if that doesn't bother you, parquet is also a good choice.
It always depends on what you want: a natural product that, however, develops its own patina over time, or a very resilient floor. Then you can look for design flooring with the Blue Angel at Parador or Meister, for example.
As we were explained, however, the Blue Angel is always only awarded in comparison to other manufacturers within the industry. Since the flooring industry generally works with many chemical agents, I did not trust this label much. We then decided on parquet because the risk of emissions from vinyl (which we already had with new furniture in our old rental apartment) was too high for me, especially back then with a baby.
