Is the KfW loan still salvageable / changeable?

That sounds as if you could have just barely (in January) revoked, but you would have had to take care of that yourself. There is no right of withdrawal "joker" for KfW loans.

The waiting time only applies if you stay with Kfw55. If you build Kfw40 or 40+, you can switch to the program with new conditions. You have to calculate it sometimes. We did it in February from Kfw40 to 40+.

Hello everyone,

teh_M Thank you very much for the useful tip. To be honest, I am a bit confused about the intention of the other responses. I am certainly familiar with the principle pacta sunt servanda... but I didn’t ask whether someone could point that out to me again, rather if there is a possibility to still change the KfW application. Why then 5-6 people have to give the corresponding advice (which isn’t even correct here), is even less clear to me...

Following teh_M’s advice, I had the construction project recalculated... what KfW40+ costs compared to KfW55 and offset accordingly against the repayment grant. As a result, it is definitely worthwhile in our case. After consultation with the energy efficiency consultant and the house bank, we were able to resubmit the application very quickly and have now arranged everything accordingly.

I just wanted to write this down in case there are others with a comparable problem. If no funds have been drawn yet, a waiver is possible. A blocking period does not apply if energy efficiency changes. You can then immediately submit a new application under the conditions applicable at that time...

Best regards!

Hello,

for such cases, KfW has a call center. They provide fair advice there as well.
In general, KfW must provide the conditions that were entered/confirmed at the time of application. Conversely (if the repayment grant decreases, interest rates increase), you would also receive the older (and thus more favorable) offer.
As for the significantly higher grant: with the change to a KFW-40 house, this could already be a substantial change. Additionally, there are other grants that you could take advantage of.

Hello IngoBabenhause,

thank you very much. I contacted the KfW. They replied: Please talk to your house bank, we can only provide you with some general information.

Which other grants do you mean? So far, I was only thinking of KfW for energy-efficient building and BAFA for a heat pump.

Best regards
