Is it possible to renovate a residential house from 1954 into an energy-efficient house? How?

Well, where mayor and shooting king are the same person, there may already have been a tacit approval for an extension on a beer coaster.

I am also quite sure that the reuse of the existing structure will not lead to a bargain price - but in connection with the claims presented, I can well imagine that the budget will stay for a new build (with the bonus of having a relationship to the house).

I consider the depicted property boundaries to be the result of a partition agreement. Formal building encumbrances due to distances may still need to be added.

My overall "assessment" is still waiting for visual material.

More than looking closely, I can’t "work magic" there.

Yes, of course he was on site, not paying is out of the question, but I had imagined a somewhat more detailed listing, at least a few more points for each category. For example, heating: - complete relaying of the pipes including chimney and condensing gas boiler, etc... Something like that.

I would simply ask nicely by phone. Something like "We didn’t quite understand some items, is XYZ included there?". I also did that with our architect when in doubt.

That’s exactly how I would also address the arithmetic errors and ask about them. The picture you uploaded looks like numbers were changed afterwards in a screenshot of an Excel (or similar) table – was that done by you or the architect? That could be a possible source of error.

Oh, and something else I noticed: in the cost estimate the "own contribution" is listed without any amounts, but you should at least calculate the material costs for yourselves there.

Yes, he entered the values there, but only placed them at the top, can now click on them and drag to the side and something else is then written below. Under the date field something from 2016 appears and under our address also another customer

Alright, from a technical point of view that's a bit weak – how old is the architect? There's nothing wrong per se with including old projects and experiences (ours almost entirely "extrapolated" the initial cost estimate from invoices of other projects). You just need to find out whether the content of the estimate makes sense and if everything you mentioned is included (windows?).

If he practically gave you a reference free of charge, you could ask this client about their experience with this architect.

Some experts are computer novices. In the depths of spreadsheets repurposed from old projects into templates, there can sometimes be more information than should be there (and possibly causing errors in a calculation sheet). Either way, the performance is appropriate for the price, even if it didn't quite meet your expectations.
