Did he also say how it should be done correctly? I believe(!) that in our case it is also only anchored in the insulation. But there aren't any major loads on it, right? Wind load? The weight essentially rests on the standpipe. I certainly have no worries about it; our expert did not criticize anything.

Freelance "expert" (many years of professional experience as a construction manager). That does not mean it is correct. Therefore, my question to the OP is whether it is also clear how it is supposed to be correct.

Hello Bieber0815,

the statement on our side was that mounting blocks are to be used for this.

I do not have any statement about the problem with the insulation dowels, only that it does not comply with the recognized rules of technology.

However, I personally also feel a bit uncomfortable, 95mm insulation dowels are also available at the hardware store, but the application is only for signs, lamps, mailboxes, etc. We fixed our mailbox with 4 of these dowels, the downpipes have 5.

For me, however, it is not primarily important whether it complies with the recognized rules of technology, but whether it holds in the long term. My concerns are the following:

1. We are located on the hill and get every wind and storm fully
2. Our insulation is elasticized (EPS, WLG032, 16cm) and therefore noticeably softer than normal EPS
3. The dowels are only a few cm away from the edge. The corners do not have much stability. If the dowels were farther away from the edge I would be less concerned.

Currently I face the problem that I have not been able to form a proper opinion. Although there are offers on the internet for this solution for fastening pipe clamps, when I want to buy the 95mm dowels somewhere, according to the seller they are not suitable for this.
