If a heat pump is to be used later and underfloor heating is to be installed throughout, design the laying distance for 35 supply temperature and 25-28 °C return. UFHs can also operate with higher supply temperatures, but the design with the lowest possible supply temperature and as a double-loop spiral for even heat distribution in the room is more comfortable and more efficient in the long term.

The gas boiler itself will then provide higher temperatures since it cannot be lowered as far. However, this is compensated by return flow mixing and is still the most efficient type of heating operation.

Please consider that you might want different temperatures in the new house than in the apartment. We see lower comfortable temperatures in the new house because the walls are warmer, there is underfloor heating, and there are no drafts.

I think no detailed calculation was made by the heating engineer in our case either (am I wrong about the flow temperature and he just did not show the calculation?), 15cm in the living room and 10cm in the bathrooms. Oh, and the heating is an air heat pump.

Hello everyone, ok so apparently I don’t need to specify temperatures above the standard for a gas heating system, but how is it with a heat pump? Our heater said we should stick to the standard values (for example, it says living room 20 degrees) because he would calculate these 20 degrees at -16 degrees outside temperature .... but it would be possible at any time to have 22 degrees in the living room at normal subzero temperatures ...... if we specify the temperatures too high, the heating load calculation that is done would be higher, that’s how I understood it, and maybe even too high, because how often is it -16 degrees?
