What is actually the point of your answers, ? I don't see any.

This forum is intended to provide help to those asking questions; however, your posts are less suitable for this, as phrases are thrown out without any explanation or justification. If you want to troll, feel free to do so elsewhere.

The way I see it, you apply the 45% marginal tax rate, which mainly results from your income, to her salary. But who decides that her salary is taxed last? With joint assessment, you must consider both of you together; otherwise, try separate assessment. Then you'll know who causes which tax burden :D

You ignore what "latte-macchiato moms" spend during the day ;)

When my wife was on parental leave, she saved us exactly ~12,300 EUR in taxes :) A good tax office creates nice calculations :)

That's probably true :)

I don’t understand the negative income thing. How can that be? For example, we also pay the highest rates for childcare, and then the childminder adds an additional hourly rate, which she is allowed to do as a business owner, of course. Nevertheless, my wife also works in the public sector instead of receiving parental allowance because it pays off. You can deduct the childcare costs; I think the cap is just quite low. But parental allowance is subject to the progression clause, or however it’s called, so it leads to a higher tax rate, doesn’t it? Maybe I really do need a tax advisor!

For parental leave and MARRIED parents, it is crucial that the tax classes are chosen accordingly in order to keep the progression clause as low as possible. But yes, the taxes lost by one party are partly recouped by the state from the other.

@TE: a family has now successfully sued for damages because the city could not provide a daycare spot (now it just needs to be clarified whether the city is at fault and therefore has to pay or not). In other words, the entitlement to a daycare place can now be enforced even better.

I would wait to buy until you have a good job and you have a bit more financial cushion. From my own experience, I can say that mothers with small children are not the first choice for employers.
