Good idea with the knee wall - but if knee wall, then maximum 50cm according to the development plan. That would be shooting yourself in the foot...
We still don’t know that one, the development plan. Am I right?
Just upload it so we can give you personal tips, instead of groping around in the fog here.
I wouldn’t want the washing machine/dryer upstairs, because the appliances are simply too loud for me. Also, we sometimes have dirty garden clothes, dog blankets, dog towels from cleaning paws, previously the kids’ digging pants, so for us a washing machine on the upper floor would be impractical.
Best regards

And so it shows that everyone has different needs. We have them upstairs in the bedrooms and don’t hear them.
But I could also imagine them on the ground floor, since we spend most of the time there.
But space required it upstairs.
However, I definitely wouldn’t want to carry laundry up and down two floors – I had that and despite a comfortable staircase rated it as not practical for everyday use.
You can’t make a blanket statement about such things: there are houses where the children’s rooms are planned on the ground floor with a large utility room, storage and office then on the upper floor. So the ground floor also comes into question… etc.
You just have to think it through yourself.
