Is an air conditioner necessary in a south-facing location?

Ah ok! So I will wait first for the offer and then we can still clarify whether it's possible to go through the one unused chimney flue in the parents' bedroom. There are now several cables running through it, but they shouldn't cause any further disturbance and you actually get closer to the planned entrance to the sewage there.

What will ultimately be necessary in terms of maintenance remains to be seen. The refrigeration technician just mentioned cleaning and also maintenance. But I see it quite simply, a car should be maintained as well.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Oh, by the way, you seem to be very satisfied with Daikin, right? Otherwise, I have a very good feeling about the HVAC technician from yesterday, which is also supported by the reviews (he is a local business).

You see that wrong, one thing is heat pumps and the other is split systems. These are completely different technologies p. Because one produces heat (but can also cool) and the other produces cooling (but can also heat)

There doesn't really need to be much reaction anyway. When the desired temperature is exceeded (and preferably really already then), you turn the things on. When the heat wave is over, you turn them off again. You don't need reaction times of a few seconds. On the contrary, systems are very annoying that constantly change the fan speed just because the temperature changes by 0.2 degrees.

As for maintenance: you can also clean the outdoor units yourself. That's all there is to it. And whether you have to regularly disinfect the IE, I would doubt that at most locations (being right in the kitchen might not be so good). If they run continuously and do not get wet and dry again multiple times a day, nothing happens. Occasionally vacuuming the dust filter is enough. After four summers here, I certainly have no dirt, residue, or odor.

Ah ok sorry, now I get it. You shouldn’t moderate side by side in the forum while posting something and simultaneously reprogram blinds and lights.

Yes, Daikin is absolutely one of the top manufacturers when it comes to heat pumps or specifically air conditioners. You can’t go wrong with that. The price is of course accordingly, but you really get a "decent" system, and every service technician is familiar with it.

I only use Daikin devices now because spare parts are also available and, last but not least, the devices can be controlled through various channels and integrated into existing systems, not just with the usual infrared remote control.
