Is a TAE socket no longer needed?

Bicycle chains are single-stranded and therefore only transmit bitwise and not bytewise.

My assessment:

Ideally, you not only have a double "Cat socket" in all rooms but also next to the TAE (or FTTH-APL). All network cables go into a patch panel in the HAR. Then you can also connect the TAE to any other network socket (patch). That means you can set up your modem (router) not only next to the TAE but in any room where a double network socket is available. You connect the second port in the network socket to one of the router's "LAN" ports. In the patch panel in the HAR, this connection is linked to a switch. You connect all other network sockets in your house to this switch.

Described too complicated. Simpler: All cables from the rooms end in a distribution box in the utility room. The cable from the Telekom box also goes into it. The Telekom signal is on it, which is now distributed to all rooms. How the box is wired is irrelevant to us as laymen, it just does it. We also don’t want to understand the control unit of our car. -- Somewhere you now plug your router in. The modern router can also be plugged into network sockets, the smart Telekom router I have certainly does that, so now there is Wi-Fi, now there is LAN, and you can also put your old Panasonic into the router, because it has TAE. Clear now?

Okay, simply put, that is the point I was getting at. It works quite elegantly by installing a network socket next to the Telekom house connection box.

In order for the LAN not to remain only where the router is located, a second connection in the double network socket is needed.

That means you want to install a double network socket as a mini patch panel, one side receiving input from the Monopol-TAE and the other side continuing to the router, in case it is in another room.

Other descriptions here have assumed that a patch panel is also installed in the HAR: since it is the most suitable room for a LAN hub, and because 24/25 ports offer more "comfort" than limiting yourself to the four LAN ports of the Fritz.

No. I also assume that there is a proper patch panel in the HAR. And that there is a network socket next to the APL. This way, the TAE socket can be "extended" to any other room via the patch panel. That means the router can be placed in any room that has a network socket. However, there must also be a second network socket (= double socket) available so that the LAN established by the router can be routed via the patch panel to a switch.

What I actually want to get at is that this way the router can be freely placed, potentially making an additional access point or small switch unnecessary.
