Is a floor drain and a separate water pipe possible?

There will be no utility room. I would prefer a kitchen. The drinking fountain is currently connected to the water supply under the sink with a T-piece.

Hi, weird thing... What happens if it doesn't turn off the water? Or if the cat plays with it... Does the whole kitchen or whatever then flood? I would have problems connecting any devices permanently to the water line without any proper drainage. Regards, Olli

The water is currently just draining in the sink. And my question was whether it is possible to install a drain on the floor in the kitchen??

Of course, you can install a drain in the floor. The effort depends on the floor construction. Technically, that is not a problem, but the costs can be quite steep if, for example, you have to go through the underfloor heating for it. Possibly, a wall inlet and a small platform are sufficient. I suspect that a renovation is more expensive than the willingness to leave the guest toilet door open or to install a cat flap there.

We used to have a cat as well. It just had 2 bowls, one for Kitekat and one for water. You just had to refill them regularly. I also think that retrofitting a floor drain in the kitchen is quite an effort. Especially since the entire kitchen floor actually has to be insulated under the screed. Olli

You only have to justify yourself or explain things that were already written in the initial post... Nice for you and your cats that you were happy with bowls. Cats love running water. I love my cats. That’s it. What an unfriendly and unnecessary comment from you. And as written: we are currently planning the house and kitchen. Nothing has to be rebuilt, the house has not been built yet.
