Hello dear community,

I have been reading along for a while now and have used the search function to solve my problem. We are having our garden laid out at the end of April and irrigation is not included in the scope of work. In addition, we are starting with the back part of the garden and will work our way forward over the next 1-2 years. That’s the initial situation :)

Back to the topic of irrigation:
Can I plan and implement it myself? Planning does not seem too difficult at first glance, draw circles and think a bit about what you want to irrigate?
Implementation according to YouTube is more or less plug & play.
Am I imagining it too simply?
Should I rather have a professional plan it?

Currently, I am struggling with the components. What do I need? And what is the best way to proceed?
Do I have to have everything here and be ready to start before the landscaper begins, or can I install most things afterward?

I simply attached our plan and have already drawn a few circles. Unfortunately, we get water from a tap that comes from the basement near the hatched distribution box. It surely won’t look 100% tidy in the end, but it couldn’t be done otherwise.
As you can see on the plan, we have different heights. To get from the bottom to the top, can I lay a sewer pipe under the foundation wall up to the top and later simply push the irrigation through it? Any other suggestions?

Prefer drip hoses or lawn sprinklers? In the terrace area, we have planned grasses and a few flowers.

Sorry for so many questions!

Best regards,
Jens

Your Plug&Play could look like connecting a faucet, holding it in your hand, and simply spraying the lawn. It seems very straightforward, whereas in my view technical irrigation appears somewhat too complicated. Trees and shrubs often only need extra water during the first three months to take root. One should monitor the establishment or health of the plants anyway through visual inspection.

;) that works. But I also go on vacation sometimes and don’t have neighbors who could water here. In addition, during the height of summer I had to water my parents' garden, so in the end I was busy for 30 minutes a day. I would rather spend that time with my kids.

Beds, hedges, and possibly trees with drip irrigation. Lawn with sprinklers. The sprinklers must reach each other. Since you feed from the water pipe, you have to keep the circles fairly small. Basically, only the [Rotatoren von Hunter] or comparable products from [Rainbird] or [Perrot] remain.

Just install "Wassersteckdosen". Then you can connect whatever you need as required.
