I strongly advise against planning a fixed window.

But you can, if you have removable roller shutter rails. Then you take off the rails and let the roller shutter down carefully. However, this only works on the ground floor and only with two people.

Also think about windows that are not to be opened. Do you really have to clean the roller shutters from the inside?

Yes, dust and cobwebs etc. accumulate on the inside of the roller shutter, which are repeatedly rolled up. It looks very unsightly from the inside when the roller shutter is closed.

Cobwebs can be easily removed with the Swiffer with extension, just leave a gap at the bottom open for the hand.

We have now also planned 2 fixed windows again on the ground floor in the house, one a narrow kitchen window between the worktop and the wall cabinet, otherwise hardly any glass would be left, and a 2m wide glass front, which you could hardly open anyway.

Also think about windows that are not to be opened. Do you really have to clean shutters from the inside?

We have plastic roller shutters from 1999 here.
They have never been cleaned. My wife cleans a lot and gladly, but this topic was never on her radar.

The only problematic thing are the fixed window elements themselves from the upper floor. That's what annoys her the most...
