Integrate dishwasher into tall cabinet?

Hello, we have a Faktum kitchen and unfortunately the dishwasher is missing. So that we don’t have to completely rebuild everything, we have the following idea:

We have a 60 cm tall cabinet with 3 drawers at the bottom, then the oven, and above that a compartment with a door - would it somehow be possible to remove the 3 drawers at the bottom and install a fully integrated dishwasher from Ikea there? Could you then place it on the bottom of the tall cabinet, or would you have to remove it and place the dishwasher on the floor (we have enough space upwards - between the dishwasher and oven there would then be a panel or a small drawer).

A narrow dishwasher would also be sufficient for us - that way there would still be some space next to it - but with the door closed it should look “normal” from the outside.

What is possible there? The width of the dishwashers is the same as our oven...

Thanks for your tips!

Why? Is there a prohibition that the oven and another electrical appliance must not be in the same cabinet? Because of the heat from the oven? Air circulation? Or why?

I haven't heard that before. ops:

Then why are devices allowed to stand next to each other?

I also wonder why this should basically be a problem. A dishwasher above the oven might not be so good in case water leaks, but nobody would do that anyway, as it would be extremely impractical.

Hello!

So I think that will never work. A standard dishwasher is (externally) 60 cm wide and therefore never fits into a standard Faktum cabinet that has an internal dimension of about 56 cm.

I implemented such a solution with a "special" dishwasher Modular built-in appliance from Siemens and a Siemens microwave/oven stacked on top of each other.

Our friends are always completely amazed at how easy and convenient loading the dishwasher can be...

The dishwasher is great for our 2-person household, but definitely requires maintenance. It needs significantly more "care" attention like cleaning the filter, etc. because it is drastically smaller.

Such a model is also available from SMEG STC75:

I used a Faktum tall cabinet with two drawers at the bottom.

Then (upwards) dishwasher (60cm height), then microwave/oven (45cm height) and above that there is still a compartment for which I fitted the front with fittings from the hardware store to fold upwards. In the above picture the dimensions are not correct, because the dishwasher is 60 cm high and therefore 15 cm higher than the lower oven shown in the picture. As a result, the door no longer fits at the top, etc. Therefore, you have to tinker at the top. But it wasn't a big problem, any IKEA fan can accomplish it with flying colors. You can also make the upper door 15 cm shorter, but for us there was little "air space" in the kitchen and it seemed more practical if the "door" folds upwards. It has proven itself well. Even if the "upper" oven is then 15 cm higher than usual, at my height of 165cm it is just still operable, meaning you can still fill it. But for real "hobbits" under 160 cm I think the height of the upper oven is certainly borderline in terms of usability. Everyone has to know and find out for themselves.

Honestly, anyone who no longer wants to kneel submissively in front of the dishwasher, but wants to load and unload the machine at a normal height, practically above countertop height, will never go back to such an "under countertop" model. But as mentioned, you have to want and be able to live with the significantly smaller volume.

For us as 2 people it makes a lot of sense; however, we do run the machine almost every day. Previously, with a normal "kneeling" model, we usually only ran the dishwasher every 2 days.

A 60 cm wide appliance obviously does not fit into the cabinet, but a 45 cm one with a 60 cm front would basically work. The price for a built-in appliance is already considerable. If you want to place the 45 cm one in the cabinet, you must of course ensure that the cabinet and appliance are sufficiently secured.

There is a device from AEG with a special external dimension (55cm) that was developed exactly for such cases. To my knowledge, it is also the only manufacturer offering something like this - and they charge a high price for this niche solution.
