There is a device from AEG with a special external dimension (55cm) that was developed exactly for such cases. To my knowledge, they are also the only manufacturer offering something like this - and they charge a high price for this niche solution.

There are also such modular dishwashers from Siemens Hausgeräte and SMEG.

In terms of price, such "special" solutions are always higher due to the certainly drastically smaller quantities compared to standard devices. We got the Siemens model at the end of 2010 for under Euro 700 - of course, you get much more machine if you place it on the floor. You also only have a smaller space offering and volume compared to freestanding devices, and at least with the Siemens machine, it is quite maintenance-intensive.

Nevertheless, I never want to load a dishwasher kneeling submissively again.
