Hello,

this concerns the installation of a Utdrag extractor hood in a 60x40 horizontal wall cabinet. In the instructions, there is an illustration that we do not understand, namely this one:

Depending on the choice, the further assembly changes (in particular the attachment of the brackets to the side walls for the offset bottom panel of the wall cabinet).

Unfortunately, the only difference we can see in the two photos is this strange grey line at the bottom edge of the door in the right picture. Since we cannot identify what it is supposed to represent, and whether it concerns us, we visited Ikea again today (Bln.-Lichtenberg), where neither two employees from the kitchen department nor the service technician currently busy assembling another kitchen in the showroom could help us.

So what is that supposed to represent on the door and why would new holes have to be drilled for the brackets in the side walls?

And does the exhaust pipe have to be routed out of the cabinet in recirculation mode, or can it end inside the cabinet? The cabinet is not going to be used for anything else.

Thanks in advance!

Hello, this is a door with a handle bar like VOXTORP. On these doors, the hinge holes are higher. If the bracket were attached in the hole, the hinge could no longer be mounted there.

Thank you for the answer! Now everything is clear. But actually, IKEA should have known this or at least marked it more clearly in the instructions.

Can anyone else say something about my question regarding the exhaust pipe?

I forgot the question while writing. The pipe must be led out of the cabinet and ends at the top of the cabinet or at the outlet grille.

Thanks again. Then the hole saw has to be used ...

With which end does the NYTTIG exhaust pipe actually need to be connected to the range hood? The pipe has one end with a smaller diameter. And how did you cut the hole for it in the cabinet? I cut a fairly crooked 130mm hole with a jigsaw following the instructions, into which the pipe naturally doesn’t fit immediately. Although the pipe somehow has a diameter of about 135mm, even though officially there are only 120mm, 125mm, and 150mm.
