Hello forum!

We have been avid readers of the forum for almost a year and think it's great how much is discussed and helped here. Now it's starting for us too, and we are thinking about how we want to design our rooms. Especially since it's soon time for sampling, we are asking ourselves which colors go together, which tiles and doors will look good, and what wood we should use for the stairs. We can already well imagine the country house style, since we are moving to the countryside anyway.

Where do you get your ideas for planning from? (Except in the [Hausbilder-Thread] ) Are there any “golden rules“?

Many thanks!

Pinterest is a great thing for collecting ideas, I think. There are also many different color schemes you can use as a guide or inspiration. For example, if you enter [Landhaus Farbschema], you get a bunch of ideas. Also good for furniture DIYs.

So I use Google Image Search a lot. For example, if I think that color xy is nice in the bathroom, I enter that and look at the pictures to see if I really like it. Or if I probably like a certain style (e.g. [Landhaus /mediterran/industrial...]) I just enter that. Through the pictures, you then come across all kinds of different websites.

I actually get all my ideas regarding the look from Instagram. There are thousands of house-building profiles there, and if you like tiles or even the matching sofa, you can always ask for the manufacturer’s name.

I also follow various house-building Instagram accounts.

First clarify the question of the plot and read the applicable development plan. "Charging up" with pictures of dream houses that do not fit on the plot or are not permitted there in that form carries the risk of leading to a house for the "Mc Mansion Hell" collection. That is, a house "over-seasoned" with embellished details (Tuscan Bauhaus with Frisian gable and Jette staircase). At least make sure to look for harmonious overall impressions and not to add an excess of details. A specific plot (including its specific restrictions) can help to sort out suggestions in time.
