Hello community!
Has anyone of you had any experience or already requested a quote for an individual FTTH connection? I know that it easily costs a five-figure sum, but I would still be happy if someone has already done that / requested a quote and can tell us a bit about it. Our potential new residential area is unfortunately in the digital Stone Age. The "up to x Mbit" DSL connections available there from the only provider are probably not sufficient for our needs. So we are looking for the "FTTH, no matter the cost" connection. ;)
For streaming and video chats, we especially need sufficient upstream. Are there nowadays alternatives that provide decent bandwidths (also up) not via underground cable, and where the latency is also still okay (I’d say max. 30-40ms)? We thought about Starlink, but that is probably not quite mature yet, or Magenta Speedbox XL? According to the map, Telekom at least has 5G in the region. What bandwidth you can expect in the end, I don’t know.
Best regards
