IKEA VARIERA - Box compatibility of the Ikea Maximera drawer

Hello dear people,

you are great, I have already learned so much from you and saved time and nerves because of it. Now I have a question that doesn’t seem to have been answered yet.

My project:
* 40cm wide Metod cabinet in the pantry
* several drawers
* I would like some order in there, so I was thinking of the VARIERA boxes

Now the main questions:
* Do two Variera boxes in 34x24 fit into the narrow but deep Maximera drawer (i.e. 32x50 inside, 40x60 cabinet outside)?
* Do four Variera boxes in 17x24 fit into the same drawer?

Mathematically no because 34>32, but since the boxes as well as the drawer taper slightly downward, it might still fit.
Who has tried this and can confirm or deny that it fits? Feel free to include a photo.

The decisive disadvantage is that in almost all services (including the aforementioned one) the photos are deleted after a certain period of time (in some cases only after they have not been accessed for a while). This often makes it difficult to read older threads because the images may then be missing and the thread is at least partially incomprehensible. Therefore, it is better to upload the pictures here ...

I know it from other forums partly exactly the other way around. there the database is supposed to be kept small

take a look at the pictures, 2 in a row fit. but... in one photo you can see that there is "air" between the bottom of the drawer and the variera. because of this and the rounding at the bottom, it slips slightly to the side and becomes crooked.

One could line the drawer with a board or something similar for the boxes to stand on. That way, nothing can slip.
