Ikea Besta doors Selsviken doors warped - experiences

Hello, a quick question: Do you have any experience with the doors Selsviken (the white, high gloss ones)? We bought the 60 x 64 cm ones. Now, after 3 weeks, we took the doors off the cabinet again because we wanted to do something else. Either we didn't pay attention when installing them or the doors have warped extremely in the 3 weeks. They are so warped that you can see it with the naked eye. Have you had similar experiences, or is this an exception for us? What can be done against the warping?

You can of course exchange the doors. I also have the Selsviken in white high gloss, combined with the Selsviken in patterned/brown (zebra look). That really harmonizes well and looks great.

I have also already exchanged one Selsviken door because it was crooked like a banana. However, that was the case from the beginning and did not occur afterward. The new door is also already crooked straight from the factory. Not quite as much, but still not straight. I have come to terms with it. After all, it’s "just" Ikea. What more can you say about it? In the assembled state, you also don’t notice that the door is crooked. But you mustn’t use a spirit level or straight edge on it.... I think this is due to production. Apparently, the boards are laminated with heat, and the chipboards warp during that process (or whatever).

.... mine were also warped from the beginning (make a belly). Everything over 64cm I would not buy anymore!

Hello......my white high-gloss doors warped within 5 months. They also had a "bulge." I have now exchanged them and hope that the new ones remain straight. The matte doors did not warp. Also, the hinges annoy me. Hard to adjust, and when the doors hang straight, after 3 months they are crooked again - and you have to readjust them. In my experience, with the "older generation" before spring 2015, the doors and the hinges were better! The doors stayed straight and so did the hinges.

I also have the 2010s Besta cabinets with high-gloss fronts and have had absolutely no problems. Back then, it was already criticized that Besta got worse because earlier Besta bodies were made of lacquered MDF instead of foil honeycomb parts. The warped fronts suggest that now even less densely pressed chipboards are being used to save even more weight.

However, in 2010 the high-gloss fronts were more expensive than now, but there was a 10-year warranty on the entire Besta series (this warranty period was also ended with later catalogs). I would exchange everything; the statistical number of returns at IKEA is the only incentive for quality improvements.
