Ideas for wardrobe with bench and plenty of storage

Kitchen furniture is much deeper though - 60, right?

The wall cabinets are not 60 ... also 38 plus door (or so). As far as I know, there are also 40 high cabinets... For wall cabinets 40 height x 60 width, you can well use the extractor hood cabinet... is it available in the new series? I still had it from the old (Faktum?)

Kitchen furniture is much deeper though – 60, right? And BESTA is 40. Possibly too wide for a hallway? I now (almost) always recommend a carpenter; of course it’s more expensive than Ikea, but not more expensive than good quality from the furniture store. In return, you get things you otherwise wouldn’t get and it fits perfectly. So for your own home, it’s a worthwhile investment.

There is also the approx. 40 depth; for sitting on it, it can hardly be less. We have Besta, for hanging on the wall and then placing things on top, I don’t know if that’s stable enough.

We got quotes from carpenters for our 150cm niche in the hallway to install a simple cabinet there. Most of them now refuse jobs under €5000 straight away, the offers we received were about 5 times more expensive than Ikea with Pax and the references didn’t seem much higher quality either. If that’s what it would be, we would be looking at a factor of 6-7 more expensive. For places where it’s more difficult, like slanted ceilings, we would ask a carpenter again; otherwise, not until after the building boom.

Metod is available in 2 depths, 40 and 60. For a niche of less than 200 cm, however, I would rather do without the seating area for a family of 4 and choose Pax wardrobes instead, so that all items can be stored sensibly. For the toddler phase, when you like to sit the child down to put on shoes, you can then simply put a stool in the wardrobe and take it out when needed.

Unfortunately, a carpenter is out of our price range.

Our niche is 1.83 m. The depth of the cabinets should not exceed 40 cm.

I have imagined the following:
1 x tall cabinet with 60 cm width and a bench at 1.20 m
Parallel to the bench, cabinets that adjoin the tall cabinet at the top.
If you have concrete suggestions for the cabinets, e.g. from the Metod series, feel free to share them. I also think Besta is great, but in my opinion, it will be difficult with the tall cabinet.

(Previously, I also had the idea to fill the niche completely with cabinets, but we would prefer to design it a bit more openly)

For how many people should something be accommodated there?

Currently, we are (still) 2 people. We also have plenty of storage space in the basement to accommodate, for example, shoe cabinets.
