Thank you, I am asking because I want to install a Metod kitchen with the 2.48 m tall tall cabinets in my place (room height 2.5 m).
Is it difficult to assemble them standing up?
What about the crown molding on top, does it add more centimeters to the cabinet height? I would like the crown moldings to end flush with the ceiling.
Best regards

The tallest tall cabinet is 2.2 m. For 2.4 m, you have to place a 40 cm cabinet on top of the 2 m high one. This way you don't have the problem with setting it up. 2 cm to the ceiling is already very tight. The floor and ceiling must be very even there.

Assembling it standing against a wall is possible, but you should be two people.

Are you already thinking about ventilation (warm air exhaust) for a built-in refrigerator?

If you use a built-in cooler, you can't seal the kitchen up to the ceiling anyway.

Hi,

sometimes the space conditions are such that you cannot assemble the cabinet lying down. I don't have any experience with Metod, but so far we have assembled all Ikea cabinets, even tall ones like the large Faktum tall cabinet and also the tall bedroom cabinets, standing up. Usually with two people, but I (woman) even managed to assemble a bedroom cabinet alone.

Best regards

Thanks! I wasn’t aware of that. In the new Metod planner, you can directly choose 248 cm tall cabinets, but in the parts list you then see that it consists of 2 m plus 40 cm top unit, so no problem to assemble it lying down.

Of course(!) I have NOT thought about that yet, thanks for the hint.
And I do, of course, want to use a built-in fridge.
I still have to think carefully about where to provide a vent outlet at the top.
Uh, does the oven in a tall cabinet also need ventilation at the top, or does it dissipate its heat at the front of the appliance?
Best regards

Since most ovens can also be used for base cabinets, they all ventilate to the front, between the door and the control panel, you don't need ventilation for the oven in the tall cabinet.

There was once a cooker combo (AEG) that had steam ventilation over the hob, but it did not become established in the long run, was complex in glass-ceramic production and if something did get in from above (unlikely because of the stainless steel edge with seal) it was a mess.
