Yes, I have to agree with you, it's also a thorn in my side. An alternative would then be the wardrobe as in the original plan. Then the front door can also be placed in the middle of the wall.

Regarding the wall with the 6.59. I moved the green marked wall upwards according to the plan, in my case the wall is 7.39m long.

Deducting 1.70 for the landing and 4m for the stairs, there remains 1.70 for the entrance to the living/dining room. The run could even be moved further upwards according to the plan, then a larger area would result at the front door.

Run 2m - 4m stairs - 1.40 entrance living. Since there is no cellar stairs under the stairs, access to the living area underneath should not suffer.

Why does the house have so many corners?

Hello and thanks in advance for the numerous responses!

Regarding the staircase discussion:
The headroom at the stair ascent should rather be less of a problem since we are planning with a clear room height of 2.70m. For this reason, the staircase also appears somewhat oversized.

I personally don’t find the stair entrance opposite the front door very fortunate either.
However, simply moving the front door further towards the courtyard because of this is not a viable solution either, as it would create yet another pointless corner in the hallway.

I don’t think the idea of shifting the guest room door slightly more towards the center of the room is bad.

... then you haven't understood the problem at the stairs yet:

Your clear room height is about 12 cm more than in my drawing. However, in your floor plan under the edge where it becomes open there is already the fourth step and not the third step. In other words, 202+12-step height = about 195 cm. And, if someone comes from above and stands on the fifth step, they practically hit their head on the edge.

EDIT:
For a clear room height of 270 cm, the number of steps drawn in also seems too few to me.

For the large guest room, I wonder if you want to provide an apartment for the guests? Reduce this to a minimum and use the space for the living area.

I have attached our stair section. Do you really think the drawn head clearance is too little or that the stairs look odd because of it?
To ease the whole situation, only the following possibilities occur to me:
- Reduce riser height (this removes the landing)
- Lengthen the flight (however, this makes the whole building bigger or optionally the living room / guest room / terrace smaller)

The guest room is basically not a guest room but rather intended for multifunctional use. For example as an office, sewing room, ironing room, etc.
At the same time, the room should be large enough so that it could possibly be used as a bedroom later on.
