It’s about efficiency. So, partly about what you’re saying.
I don’t have a double garage, holiday flights, etc. either. The stone terrace was already there.
But really – almost shocking – I find the complete uselessness. Holidays create memories, even a garage opens up work and storage space.
Washing outerwear worn once but still clean achieves absolutely nothing, except consuming time and resources for... for what exactly?

I once had a girlfriend who liked the fresh smell of laundry... who are you to judge that? Moral police? Block warden monitoring the water consumption of the settlement? You can also vacation at the Baltic Sea or at the gravel pit lake. Why don't you try to tolerate other ways of life too and not only see your own as correct?

Please try to read comments as if there were no evaluative meta-level. You are now fighting against something you are attributing to me. I did not write that. Nor did I mean it. I am a natural scientist. When I describe something, it is exactly what is written there. Nothing more, nothing less. My feelings towards facts are not evaluations of those facts.

You want to buy a 700k house with 500k equity, so 300k loan? Where is the problem that you have to change your entire lifestyle for that?

My wife and I. No children. Both of us do the laundry. I work from home from time to time, my wife works shifts. In the office I wear a suit and shirt. There are more than a dozen suits and numerous shirts hanging in the closet. When I am in the office, it's always for a good 10 to 12 hours. You can’t wear a suit twice... Pants and shirts get wrinkled. Shirts and suits go to the dry cleaners once a week. My wife wears upper clothing more than once. Towels for showering are also used more often. Towels for guests/hands/face are small towels, which go into the basket after one use and are washed weekly. Pajamas for several days. I don’t own a tracksuit or anything like that.

Now back to the topic

I find that weird...

Otherwise: Great that the apartment sale worked out and continued success!
