How to live eco-friendly?

But what? Don’t say it’s about the environment or CO2, otherwise we can gladly start the debate about what a single-family house with 160m² plus double garage and stone terrace means for the environment. Or the annual holiday flight to the Mediterranean or the South Seas, depending on the budget.

I once had a girlfriend who liked the fresh smell of the laundry... who are you to judge that? Moral police? Block warden monitoring the water consumption of the settlement? You can also take a vacation at the Baltic Sea or at the gravel pit lake. Try to tolerate other ways of life too and not just see your own as correct?

Morning, it has gotten pretty quiet here, now I wanted to know what the first month with the savings has resulted in, how is the sale of the apartments going, please keep us updated. By the way, last month I saved 40€ by drinking tap water.

I hadn’t written anything because nothing had happened, I wanted to report again only if there were news.

Update 1

Apartment number 1 could be sold notarized for 125,000 euros. It is now fully available as equity.
More apartments are up for sale and we are very positive about it. My goal is to reach 500,000 euros.

The savings course is still going very well. We have two levers where we save.

Topic 1 Sustainability

We save on things like water, food (leftovers), electricity, heating, etc., these are trivial things like not washing clothes immediately but wearing them more often now, or if food is expired we still eat it, so far no diarrhea. We used to throw away a lot, that has improved greatly. Environmentally we are great and also save money on top. My wife is fully on board with this.

Topic 2 Hard costs

Here we save more and more, we have become true bargain hunters. On weekends the catalogs are checked (online), if there are offers somewhere we immediately buy "large quantities" of them. Also the topic of restaurant visits, we only go out to eat "occasion" based now, so if friends are with us or there is an event.

Update 3

My wife wants to get out of the current living situation as soon as possible and is on board with everything. We want to finally realize our dream of a house. The current apartment is simply too small, we can’t invite anyone over, we have no open spaces, no retreat room. I understood that I can’t take everything away from my wife, women need some "free space," fancy dresses, etc. perfumes, real hair extensions. Some things will decrease but my first idea was: no expensive perfumes anymore, no expensive makeup, no dresses (only Shein now).

It’s going well

Outlook on goals:

The year 2025 is set as preparation (capital accumulation through sale of previous apartments + savings)

In 2026 we want to strike with strengthened equity (semi-detached house or single-family house)
