Yes. The problem is just that "you" won't be able to return to your old consumption-rich lifestyle once you have the house. Something like that can maybe be sustained for 1 or 2 years to fulfill the dream... but a house costs money, even if you own it. And a lot of money, if you can't buy the house 100% finished and pay for it immediately.

Always keep that in mind.

I think most of the time is spent after washing and drying: sorting, rolling socks, etc. Also, not everything is crease-free enough for me when it comes out of the dryer. And I am tolerant of wrinkles.

For me, my astonishment bordering on horror was never about time, by the way.

Then you are a more tolerant person than I am. It wouldn’t exist for me, I would go crazy. The story from the ski vacation describes a neurosis: being dirty because you are disgusted by a used but reasonably clean towel. We are drifting completely off-topic here, and it’s my fault. Sorry.

Maybe I'm already crazy, just highly functional?

To be honest, I think he was simply too lazy to shower and was looking for an excuse.
But yes, we're drifting off topic.

But what then? Don’t say it was about the environment or CO2, otherwise we can gladly start the debate about what a single-family house with 160m² plus double garage and stone terrace means for the environment. Or the annual vacation flight to the Mediterranean or the South Seas, depending on the budget.

Besides that, there is also the fact of protecting the laundry itself.
