Hi, I am just wondering how much time I would need to paint 650m² of wall. There are two of us, complete novices, and poorly equipped. Does anyone have experience? Need to apply for vacation...

Only painting? Or also priming or wallpapering?

If you’re only painting, you’ll easily need a week. (full-time)
In my experience, you can do one room with one coat in about 4-5 hours. You have to remember, you need to tape everything off, then stir up paint now and then, take breaks, prime corners and edges, and if necessary, wipe off any drips right away.
If you also wash brushes in the evening and have a beer to end the day, that’s about right. Two people are a bit faster, but strangely not twice as fast.

I would treat myself to a few days off—what’s the point of having them if you can’t work then?

So we will only prime and paint. Sheepskin, both small and large - ok. 14 days is quite long. I am self-employed and do what I want, but my husband (the small role, so rather for me), he really has to work. But wallpapering is out, that takes a lot of time, doesn’t it? I had thought a week should be enough.

Divide it among yourselves! I’m not up to my EL yet, but in my old home I changed the paint here and there every few years. One should prime the corners and edges with a roller or a brush beforehand, the other can then work the surface wet-on-wet with a large roller... during this time the first can already treat the next wall’s edges. The person doing the corners should have a damp cloth ready to wipe off any spots immediately if necessary. If preparatory work like masking is done on one day, an incredible amount can already be accomplished on the painting day. You should definitely take time off, otherwise you won’t get into the painting rhythm for several rooms.

Does that mean you don't want to wallpaper, but paint directly on the wall? Depending on the condition of the walls, that can look bad... the walls really have to be very smooth for that.

I would always work on 3 rooms... you can manage that per evening after 8 hours of work.

That means painting one room final (clean, since you're still fit), priming one room (doesn't have to be quite as clean), taping off one room (you can still manage even when tired), possibly also applying primer... and so on, evening after evening through the house. I can confirm one room takes 1-4 hours depending on the size.
