But he probably didn't want to give them away? Thicker stone costs more money, after all. Mistakes are probably not excluded, but maybe there's a clause like "what the statics require."

Of course, it could be that a less solid stone, but wider, was used. Then it gets exciting...

aaaahja. Kitchen insider? :D

Insider? I’ve been in the design industry for quite a while… but I’ve been a housewife even longer ;)

You measured more precisely than it's being built ;-) ... which in turn would be a usual tolerance. No, that would be a "newly invented" wall thickness. It may be that I didn’t think much of it in this case (we’ve had a few cases here where the general contractor specified the wall thicknesses including plaster, even though that is nonsense in the sense of being "impractical"). 40 cm would have matched 36.5 cm without plaster. When I skim the plan, it seems to me that you’re building the "Villa Botch-Bag" ;-) See "Where do the half centimeters come from?" :) For your roughly 8 cm deviation, I hope that it was transferred to a possible (partial) finished ceiling – not that it’s lacking supports. In any case, I consider stricter alcohol checks appropriate here ;-)

That's what was meant. 2.99 works poorly with standard dimensions of kitchen furniture.

Well, it always depends on the case. Example calculation:

299cm - 2 x 2cm plaster = 295cm
295cm - 92cm side by side fridge = 203cm
Side by side fridges should have 10cm space on the sides: 203 - 2 x 10 cm = 183cm

You're already at 180cm + buffer.
So I wouldn't generalize with today's kitchens...
Even without the side buffers you'd be at 200cm = 2 * 60 + 1 * 80

Instead of 2.40, one should plan for 2.50 ... small U-shaped kitchen taking the corners into account ;)
