How deep should the stair landing be? How to design it?

Hello Maria

my hallway is quite a bit wider after all. The protruding stair step doesn't bother at all. However, as a visual boundary, I created the left wall as a 90 cm platform. No railing there. And further to the left is my wardrobe. That way, no one thinks of stumbling over the stair step.

so I definitely want the dirty area to be separated and not walk through the snow puddle with gravel in my cozy socks in winter when I want to go to the bathroom or study. but I think everyone is different in that regard. I know my husband doesn't care much about cleanliness and order (he leaves everything lying around, etc.), if everyone keeps things tidy it can work. but I don't want to always have to clean up after everyone

A small addition to the things already mentioned. Since you are probably building with a basement, the basement step would then also reach into the hallway. In my opinion, that would be a safety issue and therefore a no-go.

You do have a basement - right? Another option would be to do without the pantry, because I don’t really see a shoe collection and seating area in the currently planned vestibule. Can you sketch that out?

In the kitchen, a refrigerator with a mini freezer for the essentials, and a proper freezer and supplies in the basement.

Guest WC in the pantry, then there should still be room for a cupboard about 80 cm wide for the vacuum cleaner and the like. It can be nicely customized.

And then there can be a really spacious entrance area.

#16 and with so much generosity in the entrance, the broom also finds space in one of the large cabinets
