Hello Parcus,

so, sorry that my reply took so long. I have now organized my things and finally get around to posting again. I had remembered waterproof and breathable, sounds like a good jacket, right? So I checked again, it was apparently about the company ABG, I have the flyer right here in front of me.

Maybe you or others have already had experience with their system?
I would appreciate any hints.

Best regards from the one with a cold
Sandra

Edit: Hello Parcus, I had only posted the short link (with .de and so on). The text for the link then somehow came automatically. If it’s not clickable, just let me know again, then I’ll send you the link again via PM.

Hello Sandra,

first of all, it is all a matter of financial possibilities. Then a question of the local conditions. From the land seller or from the immediate neighborhood, a soil survey or experience regarding the soil conditions should be known. Then the question arises, do we want to build here or not. Plots where the risk of groundwater is evident should preferably be built without a basement. The follow-up costs for a white tank (concrete basement) are high, and residential use is rather limited. Such a basement has nothing to do with a feel-good climate. Then rather a kind of above-ground extension (sound decoupling) from the main building, if the land costs are affordable.

Best regards

White bath is usually the most cost-effective construction method, followed by brown and then black.

Hello Sandra and all other discussion participants,

That the "weiße Wanne" is the cheapest option during the construction phase cannot be denied. But most home builders are concerned with follow-up costs and above all the usability of the basement rooms! Therefore, I think they would be better off with more modern systems.

As part of my diploma thesis, I was able to work with different sealing systems. Among others, the system mentioned by Sandra S. was included. It is a system with 3 combined material layers (films/membranes) that can be applied to any basic structure of the house – including the "weiße Wanne". There is a sealing layer (waterproof), a breathable layer, and one for protection against damage from edges/corners on the masonry.

And if music is possibly going to be played in the basement – there should be a good climate, after all, that is what all builders wish for / hope for.

Best regards, Stefan

Hello Stefan B,

I just saw your posting. Thanks. Can you please explain the system a bit more precisely, how exactly it works with the 3 layers and so on? How does it relate to the indoor climate? It’s important to me that it’s not damp, doesn’t mold or rot, and that I can practice well. And the instruments are supposed to be stored or kept there as well.

Regards
Sandra

Hello Stefan,

have you published the thesis as a PDF?

I would be interested to know where you see a connection to the indoor climate,
especially with [weißer Wanne]?

Best regards
