It's similar with us, we have 200 sqm for two people. But since the layout of the rooms is quite poor, it doesn't feel that big. A lot of space was wasted on hallways and corridors, and there is a massive lack of bathrooms and kitchens (2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms, each 3-4 sqm!! - it used to be a two-family house). Also, we don't have a basement. The space is definitely limited. On each floor, ground and upper, we have a large room of 20 sqm; each of us then gets their own room. I always thought the classic living room-bedroom division was crap. That won't happen with us. So the space is definitely taken away. As a single, I would also consider subletting. Possibly a shared flat.

: The house has 170sqm of living space and was built around 1800. The plot is 1050sqm. The outbuildings are stables. The 3 bathrooms were completely renovated/rebuilt only in 2015. It almost hurts me if I simply don’t need 2 of these bathrooms or eventually tear them down.

What is the house actually supposed to cost? You want to spend a maximum of 250k and the house is within your budget, right?

Now I'm curious, how did you solve that then ?

: The house costs 150,000 euros, which I find suspiciously cheap, as it was completely modernized in 2015. I'm still looking for the catch.

The catch is probably the costs for demolition or preservation of the outbuildings. That is likely to deter many potential buyers and thus the price decreases disproportionately, just as very good plots increase disproportionately.
