Well, the fact that tenants consume existing money instead of investing it profitably is a personal decision and not a matter of impossibility. And of course there are middle grounds. They are just difficult to describe for illustration purposes.

just check online yourself... best to choose an ETF with very low costs.

just for your information:
the "majority" of funds (I once read, over 80%) do not beat the market, but perform worse.
Also, they would have to perform better than the market to cover the fees.

so it’s best to get things that have no front-end loads and also low management fees. And then depending on risk, whether Germany, Europe, North America or whatever, stocks ;)

or you choose a "fee-based advisory", which only discusses your investment but does not receive commissions etc. ;)

I just want to say briefly that I will (hopefully in the distant future) be the sole heir of a property since my parents own the classic detached house nearby.

Otherwise, I see that we have two completely different views... Holidays are for me not consumption but a cultural enrichment. I have never been to Mallorca in my life, if that is what you mean by vacation. And we have an 11-year-old daughter who already breaks down at the thought that she has to move to the countryside. She wants to experience things, not have her parents spend 3,000 euros on garden furniture.

But it’s good if not everyone wants the same things in life. Otherwise, the demand for plots would be even higher :p

For us, our way is exactly right.

I am a real estate agent and condominium administrator. The last thing I would ever finance in my life is a condominium. I could write books about the reasons.

Very good point of view. Owning a condominium only causes trouble. Renting is definitely better. A condo is basically only useful for speculative purposes. And buying a condo to rent out is also pointless.

Then please state right away that your retirement provision is already taken care of. That changes the entire situation. So you belong to the people who live their lives and then use up their parents' inheritance. Of course, it's chill not having to take care of it yourself – but be careful: will surely explain to you why that then becomes a problem.
