In our area, some houses are located right on the edge of the cliff. Most of them have large halogen spotlights with motion detectors on the roof boxes. That should deter most burglars. Otherwise, consider using a film that can be stuck onto the window glass and then acts as a burglary deterrent.

Oh, by the way: There are apparently burglars who particularly like to target houses with cameras and visible security technology. Because that sends out more than intended. Especially if there are no valuables in the house, one should avoid alarm systems or dummy cameras. Better to use the mentioned film or work with lighting.

Roller shutters are, by the way, not an effective protection against burglars.

However, if you do get the film, you should order it directly from the manufacturer/glazier. There are roller shutters that are BURGLARY-RESISTANT in WK classes like windows.

Who doesn’t have valuables in the house? Laptop, TV, collections. Or as my installer said, my heat pump. Two people can have that out of the house in 10 minutes.

But I agree with raising awareness. That’s why I will install a system but keep it as invisible as possible. I also believe that the deterrence effect of sirens is twofold. They will deter drug addicts but attract professionals.

Hello!

An alarm system is basically useful to increase your own safety or that of your family.

There are 3 basic types of alarm systems:

- Wireless alarm systems
- Hybrid/wired alarm systems
- IP-based alarm systems

Now there are different application options:

- do you want to protect your house from the inside, so that the alarm goes off, for example, as soon as the door or a window is broken open?

- or do you want to protect the outdoor area of the house, e.g. with light barriers, etc.

Then you should know whether the alarm system should be connected to a security service or if a siren inside the house is sufficient.

Once you have decided on a type of alarm system, you can be given more detailed advice.

If you want to get information from professionals, just call any security service, they will surely advise you for free!

So I don't know what you had against the links! I think my entry was definitely an added value for the questioner and certainly helped! But if "helpful" answers are not desired... then so be it! Sure, that one works too, if it offers free consultations! I just took the first two hits on Google. Have a nice evening ;-)

In my opinion, you can just as well forget most alarm systems if you apparently live rather "secluded" in a house. The "safest" option would probably be the one with the dog. Since that is not an option for you, you should have a device installed in the house that sends a direct alert to the police as soon as an uninvited person tries to enter the house or property.
