Sorry, that’s nonsense. Or do you want to claim that in the 60s or 80s only people who had a woman working had a single-family house?

In the past, much more was done by oneself or most could do a lot more themselves because they were craftsmen and most friends were as well.

The real drama is that nowadays often both work full-time and it still only suffices for the bare necessities.

No. Look at what I replied to. You yourself gave the correct answer:

And, in addition, they arranged themselves as a family living on a long construction site, children’s rooms at least in the 60s for more than one child.

Why should more and faster and higher and further with less own contribution be managed today by a single income? This is demanded here with reference to the past, and that it doesn’t work, everyone else is to blame, especially the professional slap trees aka politics.

It never worked LIKE THAT for the sole-earning worker. If so, then as you described.

Ultimately, it makes no sense to argue with you about this because you want to rely solely on some facts, completely ignoring how people feel about it. Of course, people didn’t have smartphones in the past, and overall wealth was much lower than today. But that doesn’t help me when I’m standing in the supermarket and have to explain to my daughter that we simply can’t afford the surprise egg... because we actually can’t even afford toast this month... and there are plenty of families who struggle with this every month.

And what obviously contributes enormously to this is the internet. There were also poor people in the past, plenty of them. But at least they couldn’t see how great the rich were living.

I can also explain to you why the issue with facts and absolute numbers is always difficult. Because in absolute numbers, even the poorest pensioner with 950 EUR net per month is a rich person. Because 90% of the world’s population has less than he does in absolute numbers. But that doesn’t help him at Aldi when milk costs 1.59 EUR and it’s the 29th of the month...

PS:
By the way, this is also why Merz will fail. He believes he can run the Federal Republic like a CEO runs a company. With numbers, data, facts, clear directives, practically commands. That won’t work.

That may be true. But it is the same argumentation of the woke when they elevate felt genders to truths.
Is this the level at which we evaluate politics and then vote?
Then we are indeed screwed.
Because of real stupidity that may feel justified.
