What do you mean by having it permitted? Of course, an official terrace is not allowed. But who can object if you just lay a few extra slabs there?

The bay windows will be cheaper if you don't design them as balconies; no one needs those, only people with lots of money to throw away. I can't even imagine that you need the bay windows? According to my scribbles on graph paper, you don't need them.

Sweetie, have you been drinking? You're repeating yourself a bit. :D What exactly did you scribble down?

Have I written this here already? hmm, no, I haven't been drinking ;)

I am talking about the topic of bay windows themselves, not for the calculation, but not as a balcony. And it’s definitely worth repeating, it supports one or the other opinion here :)

In this paragraph alone you say 3 times that no bay windows are necessary. But don't worry. It does not harm your beauty and intelligence. Just had to grin. ;)

Darling, one thing: wanting balconies, the other: wanting bay windows because of the full story or because of the floor plan/house shape ;) Yes, I admit, somewhat incomprehensible :P

Hello,

thank you very much for the feedback, I am really amazed at how much thought you are putting into this. We have now also had an initial meeting with our architect (as suspected, not a freelance architect, but a cooperative architect from the prefabricated house provider).

You are probably right about the balconies, at least one of them has already been removed from the plan. My better half is still attached to the other one in front of the bedroom...

According to the architect, the knee wall would be around 1.4m (better than I thought), and the 2 bay windows with a total of 13m2 would add another 30cm to the knee wall. Well, we’ll see, cost-wise you are probably right. For the few square meters of living space, they are quite expensive.

Definitely more windows to the west, of course! It’s actually obvious, but sometimes you are blind to the obvious. And also a west terrace, even if it ends up a bit narrow.

The architect said that on the plot he would try to make the house a bit longer (more like 12-13m * 8-9m instead of 11.5m * 9.5m). That would enlarge the west side, and also raise the knee wall a bit (the house is a bit deeper due to the narrower width). Additionally, the space for the terrace would be bigger.

What do you think, would a house that is, say, 12.5m * 8.8m still look good and be functional, or would it look strange? I hardly ever see it from the side myself...

Somehow we have to figure out how to get the bathroom on the ground floor onto the east side, for example. It’s really a bit of a shame on the west side.

By the way, the street to the south is probably very quiet, it’s the last street in the new development area. After that comes a small strip of forest or fields.

Best regards!
