Hello Bauherrin 2020, as I already wrote above, in the end it was KHB. So far, I can only report positive things and everyone who comes to the construction site also says that they work very cleanly and precisely (i.e. the contracted companies - KHB only coordinates).

We have also had discussions with some of these companies. Can share your assessment. However, in my opinion, the best turnkey company is missing.

Hello everyone,

in the meantime, we have completed our new construction project and I can share a final opinion about KHB Creativ Wohnbau, which in the end was the company of our choice.

Once KHB and gladly again!

We are, although of course there were one or two stumbling blocks along the way, which were always solved very constructively, benevolently and with a steady hand by our great site manager in cooperation with the architect and management, all around satisfied.
If there is a fly in the ointment, it is only that it was originally promised in the context of the discussion towards the contract that the project should be completed about 3 months earlier. In the end, however, this was too tight from my point of view and planned somewhat optimistically within sales, without any ailments such as missing materials, etc.

In the end, what remains is a great home that we have moved into with much joy.

What stayed positive in my memory:
- due to the small company (felt like 30 projects p.a.) direct access to all contacts, who, except for small exceptions, were always on the side of the builder even towards the craftsmen. A common solution was always found.
- great craftsmen, all from within a 25 km radius of the Heilbronn region. All partners could be addressed directly and were very helpful even with the occasional short-term adjustment on our part
- a super brilliant site manager who always found an ear for our surely sometimes annoying calls and on the other hand “had the craftsmen under control.” I think he always found the right middle ground between our concerns and a practical and craftingly feasible implementation.
- a managing director who is not too proud to take care of urgent concerns of the builders himself.
- an architect who also found good solutions in case of errors
- overall the feeling as a builder to be a partner on equal footing, a customer and not a supplicant.
- individually planned projects and no catalog house
- to have a house in which, during construction, value was placed on healthy living and sustainable building materials without making it a high-end eco house
- even for services not included in the contract an honest opinion and honest advice from the developer

Negative, although the points are rather few and in hindsight would not be reasons for me not to make the decision again:
- sometimes heavily booked craftsmen and as a result sometimes a perceived idle time on the construction site (Note: here we are talking about the subjective feeling of the builders - also probably an everyday problem for many)
- a project date, named during contract conclusion, that in the end could not be met (under corona conditions and considering summer holidays, the approx. 3 months “delay” is largely understandable in the end)

Neutral and what I strongly recommend to every builder:
Look at the expensive and decisive trades beforehand such as electrical, sanitary, stairs, balcony railing, windows, shutters and colors etc. and develop a feeling for possible surcharges and additional costs on this basis. After all, all construction companies cook with water and, with few exceptions, are usually not at the standard one considers standard. Accordingly, surcharges for upgrades quickly run into the five-digit range. But this is a general and not a KHB-specific topic.
In most craftsmen, despite all upgrades, we had the feeling in the end that they did not take advantage of us and called fair prices.

If prices were ever mentioned before contract conclusion, at least you can rely on them after contract conclusion and don’t have “wish-for-it” prices afterwards (which we never had the feeling of anyway)

Thanks!
If you are also building in the area: By the way, we had our garden done immediately afterwards by a local gardener. Can wholeheartedly recommend Gartenbau Josef Moormann from Neuenstadt am Kocher. Affordable (not cheap), absolutely punctual, and high-quality as well as clean work.

We are still looking for a plot of land. But since you have built in our region, I read your thread with interest. Since you are here: Was [Brettacher Wohnbau] not in your selection?
