Heating with heat pump - moving old electricity contract

So theoretically, there are three weeks left for the old electricity.

Now let's run the heat pump at full power - a 5kW heat pump has an average power consumption of 1kW. So you consume 24kWh per day or 504kWh in three weeks (assuming full load at all times).

The new electricity contract costs 40 cents/kWh, so you save 17 cents/kWh. In three weeks that amounts to €85.68.

In my other thread titled Heating Device or Heat Pump, a consumption of 1000-1500 kWh or even more was calculated. That is in the range of about €300 difference when I compare the old electricity contract with 23 cents and the standard supply tariff...

In winter and also basically, frequent use of the heating element can occur despite the heat pump and thus the costs can increase many times over!

Even then, with the 3kW heating element at continuous output, the additional cost is "only" 250€.

In the spring of last year, I heated my 120sqm screed only with the heat pump. Without an electric heating element, as it was set to a maximum of 35 degrees (the heating system is designed for a maximum of 30 degrees). Electrically quite relaxed, as the system always ran at 400-600 watts. It is also simple. However, if your screed installer insists on a 50-degree flow temperature, then of course it will be more expensive due to increased electricity demand.

So if the screed layer insists on the automatic heating-up program, then the heat pump also runs at 7-9 kW continuous load for 2-3 weeks… that quickly uses up 2,000 kWh…

But only in the deep winter, when the heating element is needed. Which heat pump has a power consumption of 7-9 kW? The smaller 5 kW units (which are sufficient for the majority of new houses) are often operated with just 230 volts – their maximum power consumption is still under 3 kW.
