At these altitudes in the area from 900m above sea level, it is always difficult to draw on other experiences. Our design with the average annual temperature is so great that there is hardly any support. The deviation from the normal annual average temperature is simply too large.

If heating were done only with the heating element, the electricity costs would be significantly higher. Therefore, it should be checked at what temperature the heating element is activated. At over 900m altitude, it is likely quite chilly, so it does not work at all without the heating element.

We are at 530 meters altitude and here the heating elements of the air-water heat pump are active several weeks a year (fortunately, we have a geothermal heat pump) because -10 degrees and colder are not uncommon.

Hello, we live only 500 meters away but this consumption is too high. We have significantly less with more heated area and Kfw 70.

You should definitely read up on the operation of your heat pump.

How big is your buffer tank and what kind do you have?

First basic tip, set hot water to a maximum of 45° Celsius.

Turn the thermostats in the rooms all the way up and lower the temperatures on the heat pump so that you reach 22° in the house.

Set a lock for hot water so that it is only heated during the day between 9 am and 5 pm.

I think there will be a few more tips.

Some even say to set lock times for the heating at night, but this does not mean the night setback, which is rather counterproductive.

I have turned down the hot water.
Thanks for the tips. I will definitely read up on it.
But somehow I don't think this accounts for most of the excess consumption. If I save 1000 kWh through the tips, that is certainly a lot.
Or what do you think?

Somehow I have the feeling that the heating is defective.

What are the system temperatures of the heating, i.e. flow and return temperature? Installation spacing of the underfloor heating?
