According to which standard was the house built? We were advised against a water-guided fireplace on all sides in our house. The combination of underfloor heating, heat pump, and water-guided fireplace is "difficult to control" and "pearls before swine in a low-energy house" were comments made. Nevertheless, we have pre-installed all the pipes but will move in without a fireplace for now and wait 2-3 years. We finally thought that going "all-in" is harder to revise than upgrading. Wishing you much success in finding the ideal setting and please keep us updated.

We don't have a "standard." The house was individually designed.
We have sand-lime brick plus 20 cm insulation and triple-glazed windows if that's what you mean?

do you think the chimney connection is better like this? Or the old version? With the old version, we had the problem in winter that the temperature in the buffer did not rise, but it was barely bearable in the living room. That's why we wanted this conversion.

What does the energy certificate say? The connection plan only shows the scheme for hot water preparation. That has zero impact on the room temperatures. Nevertheless, of course, if the chimney cannot transport away the heat, it naturally gets very warm in the room where it is located. With the new connection scheme, it manages to do so and heats the domestic hot water.

We don’t have an energy certificate…

Exactly, that was also our thought. That’s why we had it remodeled.

But there must still be a calculation of the primary energy demand etc. in the house documents.
