Direction of laying parquet / parallel or perpendicular to the hallway?

thank you very much for the photos, the floor plan above is really very very similar.
I like it with the longitudinal laying, I don't want to judge whether the hallway now looks longer because of that, but there's no reason not to have a "long" hallway.

Especially when laying through all doors and passages without expansion joints, it is hardly doable without a good plan or a lot of experience. It takes a lot of luck that it doesn't look awkward or that it doesn't end up being fiddly or not fitting somewhere in the end...
