A different kind of question in between: Some of you come from the Stuttgart region - does anyone happen to know Pfeil Bauunternehmung Althütte? Sorry, that has nothing to do with the topic, but this does: In my opinion (interim conclusion today 22:55) a reasonable gas condensing boiler is certainly more economical than an air-to-water heat pump, even if you have to add solar thermal. However, our authorities are on a confrontational course with Russia and there have been tensions in the oil countries for some time - that’s why we are on an electricity course. On the other hand, Russia supplied gas even during the Cold War and in an emergency you can also convert to an air-to-water heat pump, at least with underfloor heating.
How the gas price develops - no idea. How the electricity price develops - no idea. Therefore, both are associated with a risk.
Of all heat pumps, in my opinion geothermal is the best - but it doesn’t work for us and many others. There is also a certain residual risk from subsidence and groundwater changes due to drilling, for which you as the owner bear the risk.
