Hello everyone, I was at the garden landscaping today and he told me about the separation station. Apparently, since 2021 it is only allowed to water the garden with a separation station in new buildings. Until now I knew that you can connect outdoor taps directly, for example at the toilet or sink water line. What do you think about it? I don’t like the separation station (with pump): electricity costs, maintenance...

What is a separation station? What does it do? What kind of pump?

You mean well water directly into the toilet? You were never allowed to do that – only with two separate pipes and a water meter.

You probably mean a system separator. This prevents water from flowing back into the pipe and contaminating the fresh water. It has been required for a long time. There are also versions (mainly) without a pump. Just search for "system separator outdoor tap." It's normal and should always be installed if done by a sanitation company.

Yes, that’s what I mean.
Separation station: e.g. Sigura 9
It is about DIN1717.
As I understand it, it is recommended that the pipe for frost-proof outdoor taps (to water plants) be connected directly at the toilet tank connection. The reason is that the water there is always in circulation.
Backflow preventer: thanks for the information. The landscaping company showed me this option. In my case, I have 3 outdoor taps --> do I need 3x backflow preventers?
Can I combine all 3 outdoor taps into one pipe (in the basement) and use 1x backflow preventer there?

1 Separator for the external lines. From this, you then branch off the individual tap points. With self-draining faucets, you have no problem with frost. Otherwise, install a valve in the basement beforehand. Before winter, you turn off the valves outside and the one in the basement (turn off the water beforehand) and drain them this way. You connect with your normal water line. WC line does not matter...

What kind of tank connection WC? External tap points usually get an air admittance valve or backflow preventer. This is a completely normal drinking water installation (see rick2018). Therefore, once again the question: What kind of installation do you mean?
