Garage: What does "attached" mean? Does it mean that the masonry is connected?

I am not an expert, but it seems to me that the greening could cause problems at the facade and one wouldn't build it that way anyway because it is not professional. It's the same as laying grass at ground level against the exterior wall without a splash guard. The building authority doesn't care, of course, but it doesn't exclude covered parking spaces in terms of _attached_ and _external_ - both are allowed. But this is just my conclusion, I don't actually know.

But we have that. Why shouldn’t it work?
The connection is sealed with a sheet metal and the grass does not grow directly on the house. There are larger pebbles in between, definitely about 40 cm distance.

:-D it’s just as well that we have brickwork anyway. We have an attached garage, which will also be greened, but only extensively with succulents and such. I’ll report back in 10 years then ;)

Thank you for your answers. So the development plan is from 1997 and I estimate that 90% is already built. We took a closer look today. There are several houses with a green flat-roof garage or carport directly attached. In addition, many clearly do not meet the 5m setback requirement with the garage. And there are even carports that stand only a few centimeters behind the boundary to the street, although the development plan specifies 2m.

So if this has apparently been approved before, can one deduce that they have to approve it again? And can something like this still be done in a notification or simplified approval procedure?

We are just at the very beginning of the planning and do not have an architect yet, but are already thinking intensively about what we want (and what we don’t).

Do you really have to get a prefabricated garage approved? I bet the garages and carports you described were just put up. Completely legal here in SH. According to the development plan, we are supposed to green it, everyone is supposed to, but somehow no one has gotten around to it yet. [emoji3]
