Hi dear home builders,

my house will hopefully be completed by 12/31/2015. However, I am not sure about the front yard (or not). The developer would either pave only the pathway to the front door or, if I want, pave the entire front of the house up to behind the garage at no extra cost. The garage is not located on the side of the house but diagonally opposite. It is house No. 4 and accordingly also garage No. 4. The garage will be 9 meters long and will have a door at the back or side; that is still to be decided. What do you think, how should I design this area? Where would be the best place for the door from the garage to lead to?

Of course at the back, because on the side you either fall into the white nothingness or against Garage No. 3. (From the back, haha, is also the direct way to your garden).

I wouldn’t pave the entire front yard. Like in the picture, it’s good, isn’t it?

You’ll do the front yard then ... I think roses are great ... But there are many possibilities and others will have much better ideas. Where are the trash bins? The bicycles?

So my garage (Garage No. 4) will be a 9m garage. Garage No. 3 cannot be 9m because otherwise it would be on my property. So Garage No. 4 will be extended 3m to the back. That's why my question regarding the door. Since I will have a huge garden behind the house, I thought about paving everything in front. But a little greenery is of course also nice. I also thought about two small trees in front of the facade as decoration.

If you really want to pave everything, leave a few areas free in between or at the edge (round, oval, or angular, depending on what suits the style of the house) and plant these with, for example, perennials or a few small trees (but pay attention to how deep your desired plants root and whether there are any pipes running underneath, as this could cause problems in the long run). By "interplanting" the paved areas, you break up the overall appearance a bit, and it is not as maintenance-intensive if you keep everything green in the front garden (of course, this depends on what you plant).

That's exactly what I think I will do. Too many patches is, I think, too dull. Some greenery belongs to it. We'll see, I'll report. I would be grateful for further tips!

I have already seen great solutions in this direction on some construction blogs, maybe you just google it and get some inspiration :)
