I wanted to revisit the topic of the front door and also share my experiences regarding research :)

After renovating our front facade and insulating, we finally needed a new door.
It somehow looked ugly - everything nice, new granite steps as well, and then that old door.

Our old wood vintage door has finally served its purpose and the new one will be delivered tomorrow.
The neighbors are expecting a big show.

It was supposed to be a Welthaus door with a transom window. I had already emailed customer service several times, they always responded patiently and quickly.
I can recommend them.
It is important to have measurements taken beforehand by a window maker or carpenter, and then you can send this data to Welthaus by email.
1000. de good reviews on Ebay
They are produced in Austria
Also available in aluminum
Price is great

For us it turned out a bit different now, I am curious.
One of the biggest manufacturers offered display pieces and mainly 2 models fit, both with fingerprint scan and one even with camera and doorbell.

A window maker will install it the day after tomorrow, I will report.
Buying a door is not that easy, but I looked 99% online.
I did not go to the hardware store.
You just need good craftsmen to install it,

I actually would have taken a standard anthracite gray one, but now it has actually become a noble, modern two-tone one, a very classy piece.
Just a display piece with all the bells and whistles

I am really curious and will report

May I ask how things are looking with the Welthaus door? I have never heard of the manufacturer. The website would personally deter me. Three (!) banners from different sources appear when visiting the website. Has everything worked out, are you satisfied? How is it generally with pure aluminum doors and temperature fluctuations? I've heard that some doors have issues with that. What is important to us is actually only RC2, good thermal insulation, and very simple. We actually don't want any windows in the door. Does anyone have experience with Schüco front doors? I found them quite good for windows so far.

It is just a small manufacturer that comes from the glass construction (window construction) industry in Austria. Welthaus sounds good, of course, but it is only the last name of the owners. Balance sheet ok, on the market for many years, also socially engaged.
