You can do that too. ;) Otherwise, trying is better than studying. With all the writing, one could have simply tried turning it once?

I agree with you. But it is easier if you can immediately read the reaction (heating circuit closes) to an action (turn position 1 clockwise) (display goes to 0 or float sinks). If I only notice that the temperature slowly decreases over the days (because the bedroom is still indirectly heated by other rooms), I find it rather difficult to draw a direct conclusion from that. Hence my uncertainties and all the questions. I will carefully turn the two scales in the bedroom – where I think (apparently I cannot read it) the heating circuit is closed – counterclockwise and see if the room temperature improves again. There have also been repeated – apparently incorrect – replies here that the scale is only for reading and you cannot adjust anything there.

In case of doubt, I would have called the executing plumber or contacted him by email with a picture and asked for clarification. Isn't that the usual way?
