I'll ask again. I thought the slate was really great. Various shades of red and brown, very lively. And about 35 euros per square meter in material costs for 100 sqm. Plus baseboard plus natural adhesive plus installation. So not extremely expensive, but also not really cheap.

Yes, however, it should then also be used regularly [emoji52]

All natural stones are porous. Granite and marble also need to be impregnated when installed in the kitchen. For this, silicone-based agents are used, which are not cheap and are labor-intensive to apply. The impregnation lasts for years. Slate is also soft, which means it has to be impregnated more often. However, many simply like to live with the "wear pattern" that develops on slate.

Floorboards on underfloor heating are not a problem, but your heating engineer should be aware of it.

Those are interesting aspects. Thank you! I do like a functional look. However, my husband is unsure because of the strong unevenness of the slate. For him, porcelain stoneware or wood would be an alternative. In principle, we have found out that we would like to feel what we see. That’s why vinyl, slate look, and actually also laminate are not options. How about cork and underfloor heating? Should it also work if glued? That would probably also be nice and quiet.

With slate, the problem is that you quickly wear holes in your socks. We have uneven and partially irregularly dull tiles – there, you wear out about 3 pairs of socks in the winter season. With slate, it’s even worse... Take a look at Atlas Concorde: they have very beautiful tiles. Although not in slate look, they also have very interesting textures :)

Always glue on underfloor heating.

And when it comes to exciting structures, Mirage also has quite a few.
