I know Samba stairs in Mettmann, but spiral Samba stairs I consider a rumor *scratches head*

Maybe it is called something else. It was spiral and the steps were only half. A ladder would have been better.
Google "Jazz Raumspartreppe". It looks similar.

It was exactly like that, walkable or climbable. Over time, one became quite good at getting things up and down there.

Wow, I was positively surprised this morning.
1. Asbestos is coming off the roof. (I knew it was supposed to be gone by Friday evening)
2. A crew for gutting is here. (I had no idea about that)
3. The municipality cleared the town hall square so that the alternative parking spaces for the doctor can be there today (neighbor, driveway blocked by crane)
4. The municipality partially closed the marketplace so that containers, flatbed trucks, and trailers can be parked there.

The mayor indicated that we can use the space, but that it goes so smoothly without having to say anything. The demolition company only informed the neighbors that it is starting and that there may be inconveniences.

The managing director of the municipality is taking photos of the demolition and the setup. If he works, at least one in the morning and evening. He has the best view. He promised that to my mother on Monday.

Finally, it’s starting, and maybe by the end of next week we will know what the slope and the old wall are doing.

And freeloaders are coming from all corners. Looking for light switches, the very old black ones, want wood, but please for free loading, and who knows what else.

I threw my neighbor (suffering from boredom) off the construction site this morning. Not that something happens to him if he stands in the way while drunk.

The wood has been cleared away, debris will be removed starting Wednesday once the laboratory results are available.

The structural engineer got cold feet or rather a fear of heights. Don’t know why? The mountain is so high, the wall will be so long. A geologist must be involved.
The architect walked the site with him last year and showed him the plans.
What annoys me is no problem last year and now wet feet.

The geologist says the slope angle doesn’t hold. My great uncle "uh it has held since 1928, that’s the last time we did anything. I was a little boy then. That’s when we dug the barn drainage."
That was the last understandable statement from the geologist.

I’m curious about the report and what the structural engineer will make of it.

I received a photo showing the house around 1900. It was a postcard.
