cool! thanks it is actually pretty similar in layout to ours. is the dishwasher next to the oven? Was it positioned perfectly for you or would you do it differently? is it too far away from the sink?
Yes, the dishwasher is installed at a raised height. The distance from the sink was actually ideal for us. But I think it also depends on personal preference and how you use the kitchen. We are a household that basically puts everything (except the husband's Shun knives) in the dishwasher. Almost nothing is washed by hand here. Therefore, for us this 80 cm cabinet between the sink and dishwasher was ergonomically ideal to possibly sort food leftovers or waste into the bins under the sink and then put them into the dishwasher.
In the new house, we have planned it very similarly again.
I would always choose a raised dishwasher again. We currently have a dishwasher installed low (in the temporary apartment during the construction phase) and base cabinets with doors, and it’s driving us crazy. Our discipline really slips here because it is so inconvenient to unload, especially after having had it raised before.
Right now I’m heavily pregnant and it has gotten to the point that I can’t unload the dishwasher anymore because bending down and leaning forward just doesn’t work anymore. So this task is now falling to my poor husband. :)
